Note: Many of these recording have been put away for years. As technology has developed over the years, the use of cassettes has become obsolete. Also with technology comes new ways to preserve the older technology. Recently I purchased a USB cassette to play this music and convert to MP3. The company is called EZCap and it is a great purchase! Not sure how long the motor will last since I have a lot of cassettes. In addition to recording new music, I will occasionally upload some new tapes. This will certainly take a long time and unlike studio records, many do not have dates. Especially the real older ones. I'll make some notes to the right of the recordings about each recording. It's great to look back on those older days of playing guitar and how we captured audio. It is much different than recording in tracks and even more different than recording on tracks with the computer technology of today! (2016) Enjoy these recordings! They are mostly rehearsals and it certainly shows in some instances. In others, there is some fine moments of sound and energy. Recording: We recorded our rehearsals using a single microphone in the center of the room and a double cassette deck. Vocals, guitar and bass were through a PA system, Peavey. Everything was a single take. We didn't have the ability to use track recording. Many of the tapes we would just simply hit record and see what we got later. That later is also now! |
